In the sense of thinking efficiently, with minimal waste; instead of "thinking
like an economist". Is it possible to use strategies and algorithms from
handling "explore vs exploit" trade-off to economize human thinking on a
meta-level? Perhaps I'm doing it backwards-- what I'm after are the ideas that
inspired those algorithms in the first place.
In this reflection on William Zinsser's "Writing to Learn", I connect his core idea of writing as thinking to my own lifelong writing journey. It's my take on his concepts, including some critiques on some ideas that I feel were not well thought out.
We discuss how to critically examine the values that drive our comparisons and cultivate a mindful approach, so this inevitable human act leads to greater self-awareness and freedom.
